Today more than ever, it is important that Christians examine their handed down traditions in the light of the biblical testimony. Many traditions have been nothing more than “chains” that bind billions to ritual after ritual, holiday after holiday, obligation after obligation. Most would say that these aren’t chains, they are happy to do these things-not realizing that none of these things are commands of the Father, or commands of our Savior. They are rather the creation of men and are spiritually unprofitable. The amazing thing is, many would defend these man-made traditions even if it meant fighting to the death. They are engulfed with the conviction that obedience to these man-made traditions is in line with what God wishes. Why? Because men “of God” have told them so and they believe it. The “holy” men of today despise and contradict the true teachings of the bible, both Old and New Testament, as if they are irrelevant and out-dated, all while using this same book to claim authority and leadership over the people. They cherry pick teachings that are as sweet as honey, while ignoring, maybe even hiding the whole truth to the path of life that can be found there. Had I not prayerfully read and studied the scriptures for myself, I would have never seen this beautiful and wonderful true path to life that is outlined there. Are men of God now allowed to contradict God’s word in the bible? Is the bible to be used by leaders only as it is convenient for them? Does God change?
“For I am the Lord, I change not.” ~ Malachi 3:6
“My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.“ ~ Psalm 89:34
These traditions are chains, and they are very difficult to break. I know this because I was once bound by these chains, and only shed them by the grace of the Father. For this reason Jesus said “the truth will set you free.” You see, in Jesus’ time there were many man-made traditions and laws created by the Jewish leaders as well. These traditions had nothing to do with God’s commands. They went far above and beyond our creator’s simple requirements. These supposed “wise men” of God were revealed to be fools by Jesus himself. Jesus went to great lengths to break these traditions and man-made laws to reveal to the lost- God’s true will, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments alone. The requirements are simple and clear, even allowing the youngest of children to understand. Men continue to complicate God’s simple commands in hope of reaching a level of status, holiness, or authority. Is there anything different about these men today when compared to the leaders of Jesus’ time?
“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men,…..Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” ~ Mark 7:7-9
God today is calling a remnant of his followers out of what is known as “Mystery Babylon” in the book of Revelation, as we approach the end of all things. This remnant is described as those that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and those that do His commandments. Today’s leaders have Christians convinced that there are no requirements of us any more as Jesus sacrificed his life to cover our sin. The biblical testimony reveals a different story. Who will you believe, the words of men or the word inspired directly by God found in the Holy Scriptures. Christians today have been led to a different set of commandments just as the Jews were misled 2,000 years ago.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” ~ Revelation 14:12
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” ~ Revelation 22:14
Many of today’s commandments sound more like: Thou shalt attend church on Sundays, yet after church you may do whatever you please out in the world. Thou shalt celebrate the pagan Easter celebration (Holiday instituted by the Beast). Thou shalt baptize infants even though they have no knowledge of Christ. Thou shalt receive communion every Sunday. Thou shalt be involved in every social church event- filling your schedule, even though family or personal responsibilities may be neglected. Thou shalt attend church services, or else your sins will not be forgiven. Thou shalt do whatever your minister(s) advise you to do, even if it is out of line with the bible. Thou shalt celebrate Christmas (holiday instituted by the Beast) even though it is a pagan holiday rooted in idolatry. Thou shalt eat whatever you wish. Thou shalt give to the church exceedingly, and you will be blessed with material wealth. Thou shalt let everyone know of the good works you do in your community. Thou shalt appear as a good Christian and show up to church religiously, no matter what your true condition is. Thou shalt not worry about God’s commandments any longer, Jesus got rid of those. Thou shalt keep your distance from getting too close to other Christians, as they may actually ask things of you. Thou shalt bow and pray to the statue of Mary, and the statues of other saints, or thou shalt kneel at the wooden alter or pay respect to the chalice, wooden cross or the church building. Thou shalt work hard in your church, and become ordained and sit in the high places and be respected. Thou shalt follow me your church leader, or you will never make it to heaven or the Kingdom. Thou shalt have material riches and stability, and God will make your life easier if you obey all of these commands. My question for Christians is, can you find one of these commandments in the bible?
The commands of the bible are very different than the commands of men today. The commandments of men create an outward image of piety. The commandments of God create an inward condition of love, humility, kindness and holiness. The commandments of men bring about harsh judgment among Christians based on outward obedience to these man-made ordinances. The commandments of God teach the believer to love their neighbor unconditionally (commandments 5-10) from the heart because they see the falling short within themselves, and to love God by obeying his will (commandments 1-4). The commandments of men create an expectation of material wealth. The commandments and teachings of God establishes an expectation of giving what you have to the poor, a commandment of material poverty, with the promise of eternal life and wealth in the Kingdom. The commandments of men require us to honor the day of the Sun God- Sunday, instituted by Roman Catholicism and Rome (The Beast). The commandment of God requires us to honor the Sabbath Day, a day marked by God’s very own creation every month. God commands us to make the “entire” day holy. These commandments of men require honoring “dressed up” pagan holidays that are clearly and historically of this world. The commandments of God require us to flee pagan practices and idolatry, and to honor the one true God only, the creator of all things. The commandments of men teach that certain objects, statues, buildings, alters and crosses are holy and should be respected. The commandments of God teach us not to bow to any graven image of anything created with man’s hands, and that God does not dwell in temples made with man’s hands. The commandments of men teach to proclaim your good deeds from the mountain tops. The commandment of God teaches us to do our good deeds in private where no one knows that we are doing them. The commandments of men teach us to work hard to be exalted by men to the high places. The commandments of God teach us to become the servant of all, and the lowest of all if we are to become great in the Kingdom. The commandments of men teach that your life will be easier and filled with material reward if you follow what they preach. The commandments of God teach that this world is not our home, and that if we obey God’s commands the world will hate us, persecute us, and we will suffer just as Christ suffered. The commandments of men teach that we must follow the “highest” church leader to make it to the Kingdom of heaven. The commandments of God teach us that we are to establish a relationship with the Father Himself, and to follow Christ alone if we want to make it into the Kingdom. Remember, Christ sent servants into the world to teach in the form of Apostles, with the instruction to become the lowest of all people, not the leader of all people. Do you see the danger in following the commandments of men, rather than the commandments of God?
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” ~ Matthew 10:22
When we truly obey God’s commandments, and defend them, we realize the persecution that Jesus also experienced. God’s commandments are very unpopular among Christians today, because men have distorted the true gospel of the bible. God in his infinite love is calling His people out of the churches today. He is calling them to become obedient to His commandments of the covenant, words that will never change. This includes His Sabbath Day commandment. He is calling us to repent of our sins (sin=disobedience to God’s commandments), seek rehabilitation through the blood of Jesus, become baptized and walk free from sin in obedience to His and God’s commandments. He is longsuffering towards us, yet an end will come. Seek the truth, and you will find it. Ask for the truth, and it will be given to you. Knock on the door of truth and it will be opened to you. Flee the commandments of men, and find the commandments of God. Obey them from the heart and become a part of the New Covenant. Experience the freedom in loving every human being as you love yourself as a part of your daily life. Experience the freedom of truly loving God above ALL things. Join the work of God, a work of the heart. Break the chains created by Satan through men, and find freedom in Christ walking in the spirit. The truth will set you free!
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” ~ Revelation 18:4-5
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:18-19 (Jesus)
