We have heard from some that don’t believe that Jesus is still moving in power, through healing and miracles today. There has even been cases of instant healing in Jesus’ name where the healed person testifies to others, and even Christians don’t believe it is real. It is amazing how much doubt exists today among those that profess Jesus, when it comes to Jesus actually doing what he said he would do in power through those that believe in Him. Everything comes down to one simple point- we either believe the Bible, or we don’t. The Bible is the Word of God and never changes. Many people see faith only through “religious glasses,” which has taught them that the power of God isn’t really that active today. They teach that people don’t really get healed so much, and signs and wonders of the power of God are a thing of the past. How do Christians today in one breath proclaim the greatness of Jesus, and with the next breath declare His power null and void? Are you a follower of Jesus, or a follower of religion? Do you really believe what the Bible says about you walking in the power of God as a “son/daughter” of God, or do you believe what religion today teaches, that you are powerless, weak, and sinful? Do you really believe what the Bible says about every believer now being a “saint”, or do you believe what religion teaches- that you are a constant sinner?
You see, the Bible says one thing and religion will say another. Why is that? The Bible is the Word of God. Religion is the tradition of men. Where are you building your house? According to the Bible we are taught to build our house upon the “Rock” (‘Petra’ in the Greek meaning an immovable cliff face), which is Jesus Christ. This is different than the “pebble” (‘Petros’ known as Peter- in the Greek meaning a pebble that you can throw). Do you want greater understanding of who Jesus was? Read John 1:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” ~ John 1:1-14
Jesus was the WORD MADE FLESH TO DWELL AMONG US. By Jesus the creation was made. By Jesus we exist today. By Jesus we have power to become sons of God. If you want to build your house upon the Rock so that it won’t fall in the day of trouble, you have to build it upon Jesus- which is the WORD….made flesh. Jesus is the Word. Jesus is the Rock. The Word is the Rock. Believe what it says, because only in the Word with the help of the Holy Spirit will anyone find truth. Ask yourself, ‘Do I build my faith on the traditions of men (religion), or do I build my faith upon the Rock (Jesus and the Word/Bible)? Religion represents “sand” in the parable of Jesus, and if you build your faith upon religion, you build your house upon the sand. When the storms come, your house will be destroyed.
The Word/Rock tells us that as believers we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and that we can walk in power performing miracles, healings, preaching the fullness of the gospel, walking in the spiritual gifts of words of wisdom, prophecy and words of knowledge, speaking in tongues and the list goes on. This is what the Bible says- just read the book of Acts. This was not limited to the Apostles. We see in the book of Acts that all that were filled with the Holy Spirit walked this way- here’s one example of Stephen:
“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” ~ Acts 6:8
Does your walk look like the Word? If you say, “I don’t believe in speaking in tongues,” or “I don’t believe we can bring healing in Jesus’ name to others,” then you are basically saying “I don’t believe what the Word says.” It would be the same to say “I don’t believe what Jesus is saying.” The problem isn’t in the Word, the problem is with us. We have to change our lives and understanding according to the Word, not the other way around. We have to remove our religious glasses to see the Word for what it is and says. I tell you the truth- whatever the Bible/Word says is TRUTH. Everything that contradicts it is from the evil one. Jesus today is moving in a powerful way through the Holy Spirit to make evident the truth of the Gospel. Healing is real. Signs and wonders are real. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are real. The Holy Spirit is just waiting for you to figure that out, so that it can move in and through you. We pray that you will believe today!
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” ~ Mark 16:17-20
